Enjoy some Christmas cheer from Leslie and the Lys. I recently did an interview for Copious Magazine. Australia's Stealth Mag. recently reviewed 'BADH'. DJ Timebomb just dropped his new mixtape, "It Is...What It Is...". I have a track on the mixtape which appears right after a 50 Cent track. Gangsta. Show support for Iowa hip-hop and cop this disc. I hope to wrap up production on a new song and music video with Leslie and the Lys, Blazin' Hazen, and Cowboy Clark (whose raps sound very familiar) by the end of the month. I produced this banger with Paul Cocaine. Audio soon. Or should I just make you wait for the video? Hmmmmmm... Don't expect my new release before 2006. It will be worth the wait. Patience. Hold your dead horses... |

For those of you that don't know...I do acting on the side to sustain this NYC existance. See the related, Ashton to Ashes. Work has picked up recently and I've had less time to work on the new record. Now I'm shooting for a Christmas release on Background. Another push back. Dizzam. I'm hoping to package a DVD with the new release though... Cheap Cologne is about to release his new project, Something Random. Track 2 features a new Arecee track called "Obsessive Clipping" with friend Cassandra Kubanski. I drop gems son. Peep game. I doubt I will be playing a show with Arson Class in December as once thought. The project is moving slower then expected and the band line up is still up in the air. However, as soon as Background is released, you can be sure I will be throwing an NYC release party along with many other dates and locations. :) |

I've started some recording with a group project called Arson Class. It's too early to tell how this will develop but there is a lot of potential for this project. I'm still working on my new record, Background, along with projects from She Keeps Bees and Leslie and the Lys. Where is my clone when deadlines loom??? Someone get on that please. I ran into C-Rayz Walz last month. I was dressed as a pirate in a bodega in Brooklyn (don't ask). He approached me and asked for a picture. Strange. Life is Cartoons was recently remixed by our friends at Loca Records. They should be posting a link to the remix soon...? I'm scheduled to perform a show in Des Moines, Ia. on the 16th of this month. Also performing are Aeon Grey with Really Real, Soultribe, and Kanser from Minneapolis. House of Bricks, 7 pm, all ages. I got lots of new material for the kids. FEEL THE POWER. |

We can send thousands to Iraq to fight for oil and profits but we can't bring any order to the chaos in New Orleans for our own people? What is wrong with our country??? This month if you purchase any of my CD's from cdbaby.com. ALL profits will go to the Red Cross. Peep some new audio. It's about time I threw out some treats to you doggies. The track was produced by A Ghost with Headphones. I recently engineered a first release for a friend. She's sort of a Cat Power/Mazzy Star hybrid. She'll be on iTunes soon. Until then, enjoy a free download enginneered by yours truely from She Keeps Bees. No shows this month. Next month though...it's on...? |

I've been busy with other projects...including production for Leslie and the Lys new release. I gotta come through for my lil' sis. Right??? Whoa. A canadian producer named Sihk Knowledge dropped a gem on me recently. It should appear on the new record. Visit him and his crew at lpmusic.org. I also may be doing a some collab action with an NYC group called Arson Class. There's potential here for a more interesting live show as they all play live instruments and have expressed interest in playing our material live. Pirates are next level. |

An ice cream turck just drove by my house playing the traditional luring kiddie tune but with an 808 clap added to the mix. No joke. Ice cream trucks are SO hip-hop. It's that time of season to celebrate our heritage. I eat hot dogs often and burn almost every day so I think i'm covered. Perhaps I should light off some snakes just to add the icing on the cake. Oh boy...I am so damned excited. Wave the banner and watch the explosions. I would be lying if I said that my new record, "Backround" would be out this year. But soon...yes, soon. Until the new LP drops, why not pick up "BADH Instrumentals"? There are only 100 of these printed and they're gonna be sold out quickly like KER-PLOW! You can also purchase "BADH Instrumentals" at Amazon and CD Baby. |
June 2005 |
I'm still spending all my time on the new record, "Background". For all you skateboarding fans, I finished a song recently called "Ode to Jason Lee". It is a magical skateboard journey unlike any other. I am talking to a few production companies about videos for some of the songs on the new record, "Background". It's too early to say where the video stuff is going to end up but there WILL BE video for this new record and it won't be just women, whips, and bling. I am SO SO sorry. The split 7 inch featuring myself and Leslie and the Ly's is now shipping. You can pick it up here and at Amazon.com. Also, "BADH Instrumentals" is NOW SHIPPING and only 100 units were pressed! |
May 2005 |
A
few close friends of mine have lost their jobs recently. How about a
moment of silence for the unemployed and another cheer for our war president. |
April
2005 |
April 1st was supposed to be the release date for the split 7 inch that I am on with Leslie and the Lys. Unfortunately Ten12 Records is pushing back the date again. Slackers. We should see some product sometime at the beginning of this month. As soon as I get some I'll put it up for sale. The "Beating a Dead Horse" repress is done and should be hitting stores very very soon. The magic just doesn't stop. Can't stop. Won't stop. Arecee shows are plentiful this month. East coast and midwest shows are listed below. Be sure to make it out before you die like Terri Schiavo and Johnny Cochran. 4.01.05 - Washington D.C. - Aqua Bar - more info 4.10.05 - Iowa City, IA. - Green Room 4.14.05 - Nashville, TN. - Basement Lounge 4.17.05 - Des Moines, IA. - House of Bricks - more info 4.21.05 - Philadelphia, PA. - The Fire 4.22.05 - Boston, MA. - PA's Lounge 4.23.05 - NYC - Knitting Factory |

"Beating a Dead Horse" instrumentals are coming soon. More info coming. The "Beating a Dead Horse" repress is expected towards the end of this month. East coast and midwest shows are plentyful for April. The Ten12 Records split 7 inch record featuring myself and Leslie and the Lys has been pushed back to April 1st |

No shows this month unless something comes up last minute. Sorry. I'm keeping plenty busy working on the new record, "Backround", which should be out sometime in the first quarter of 2006. Ten12 Records is putting out a split 7 inch record featuring myself and Leslie and the Lys. Paul Cocaine is also on there with some remix action. These may be on sale by the end of the month. It's new material BITCH. Tracklisting is in the messageboard. Street date is March 20th but I should have a few copies before then. Cover art is designed by another member of the family and is hand screened and numbered. Example below...
White Devil Syndicate is using some of my music on their site because I am the future. "Beating a
Dead Horse" is being repressed by Collekt very soon as we've exausted
the first pressing. This time around I'll make sure to put the tracklisting
on the back of the CD case as opposed to JUST the inside of the CD.

Thanks
to all for coming out to my latest show at the Knitting
Factory. If you didn't make it then you missed a great show. 6 bands
for 6 bucks and an NYC debut from Leslie
and the Lys. Cut the Wires
can't stop climbing. Erin Baiano
was kind enough to take a few shots. You can see them at collekt.com. Here's the latest from my neck of the woods. My third official release will be titled "Background". I've worked with a few producers on material which may or may not be included on the project from Minneapolis based Cheap Cologne, North Dakota's Paul Cocaine, Iowa's own Aeon Grey and more tba. A seven inch record should be coming out in the spring with some new material as well. The b-side of this record will feature my sister's act, Leslie and the Lys. It may be also worth mentioning that I have begun work on a themed instrumental project called "Strict Dress Code". If you haven't visited the site lately, I have new shirts and hoodies for sale with lots of new colors and sizes. Some of my contact info has changed. If you are having trouble reaching me, you can always get me through e-mail |
